Rise & Shout the Cougars are Out!

Well, it's the day that Than has been waiting for for months--BYU opening day! And yeah! the cougars won--not without a few mistakes but we'll take the win. It was so fun to be in the stadium singing the fight song and pretty much baking in the sun. Some highlights were Camry getting "sun cream" in her eyes--that's always fun, getting dirty looks from the people in front of us who were I'm sure thinking...get a babysitter, Than getting to shake LaVell Edward's hand before the game (he's BYU's old coach who's pretty much a legend if you didn't know--it's a good thing Than is so bold to yell out, "Coach!" as he was walking into the stadium), not going into labor...thankfully....and doing our tailgating. We met up with Evan & Brigette, Sam & Laney, and a bunch of other friends to get our food on before the game. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday.

Here are the kids before the game--before they got all sweaty & nasty. My favorite quote of the day came from Camry who said, "Are we going to Cougar Stadium or not?!?!"

And here's a picture of Sam & Laney for all you out there who want to see a pic of Sam's girlfriend. :)

We LOVE BYU!!!!!

A little something....

For Becky's sake, I'm updating since she nags you to update your blog if you haven't changed it every two hours. :) Life just hasn't handed us anything interesting lately. All Than has been doing is draining our bank account buying things to get ready for the upcoming BYU season. First game is on Saturday! Go Cougars! He bought shirts & chairs & a new BBQ to tailgate & one of those car flags & said today he's going to buy Pacen a new BYU hat because his is getting dingy. Yes, the man is obsessed. This is pretty much like Christmas Eve for him. I was debating if I went into labor on Saturday if Than would come with me to the hospital or if he'd wait until the game was over. I seriously think he'd have a hard time deciding.

This was just Pacen & Camry being funny with our old, nasty car seat that I'm trying to clean for the baby. I've debated just buying a new one, but this one will work fine, so I'm trying not to waste money and just get this one all spick & span for this new baby.

This is what happens everyday when I say, Alright--time for naps. They think they are so funny when they run and hide, and from underneath the blanket Camry screams, "Neener, neener, neener." That's one of her favorite phrases right now. (And Pacen really does sleep with sheets on his bed...their just in the wash with the car seat stuff!)

Baby Update: There really is no update. I hardly feel any contractions and have been surprisingly comfortable the past week or so. I'm dilated to a 3 but that doesn't really mean anything for me. I'm pretty much planning on a late baby again which is fine. The baby will come when it wants to.

Mom Update: My mom only has 10 more treatments of Radiation! I can say 'only' because I'm not the one going through it. She's handling things well. All the side effects are up and running--no saliva, can't chew or eat--just drinks a few Ensure's a day, she has real painful sores all over her mouth and throat, she's getting weird marks on her face that sort of look like a sun burn--but the bonus is that she's down to her high school weight! She's a hottie! One thing we didn't know is that your hair will fall out with radiation---but just where the radiation hits you which will be just about an inch above her hairline on her neck--but the catch is it doesn't grow back! Fun, huh?!?! Hers hasn't fallen out yet, but you never know. I was thinking at least she won't have those nasty old lady hairs coming out of her chin when she's old! All those follicles will be dead! We try to stay positive over here. :)

Oh--and I got a sweet baby gift from my friend, Rian.

She made it. Yep, I said made it. She's super talented and it's way cute! I love new bags!

If you're having a bad day....

...you can say to yourself, "At least I'm not as unorganized as Erica." I just thought I'd post this so that people can have a little boost of self esteem when they compare themselves to me. :)

The only thing that I've done to get ready for this baby is get this old changing table with some drawers. Our old one just had shelves and we own way too many clothes for these kids and needed some more space. I ended up getting this one for free off of KSL because I went to look at it and it turned out I knew the lady from teaching and she gave it to me for free since it needed a lot of work. None of the drawers worked well, it was originally yellow (don't ask me why) and then they spray painted it white...it was pretty ugly. Should have taken a picture. So, I fixed it up as well as I know how (I try to be a Mrs. Fix It, but I'm not that good yet). You know...paint..sand....stain, etc. I like the way it turned out. That is not why you should have a boost of self esteem yet.

THIS is why. When I was going through Pacen and Cam's other dresser I started trying to find matches to their socks. I hate matching socks and usually just throw them in. Bad, I know. This is how many socks did NOT have matches. How many different white socks are there?!?!?! I didn't even count them, but I had to laugh because there was even a little mitten in there.
This was my favorite part, though. I believe that this row of boys socks came together in a little set. It takes real talent to have one baseball, one football, one soccer ball, two different color striped, and one 63 sock. If I tried to do it again, I probably couldn't.
So, now all of you can feel good about yourself knowing that you are more organized and don't waste as much money as I have on socks.

Reading Time

One of my goals in life is to be a reader. And I'm better. I don't read all the time, but I'm in a little book club and I read their books and have tried a few on my own, but seriously, I don't know how people find time to be readers. I really enjoy it, but finding the time is difficult. But today I really wanted to read this:

It's our book club book & I'm only like 60 pages in but it was really interesting to me. So, I made the kids a place to read like this:

I had to mop the floor today so the chairs were already out and they love it. So, it gave me a good half hour to read as they read....and played and made a mess of toys all over my living room....but for a while we were both reading!

PB&J vs. Ham & Cheese

Pacen LOVES peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Camry won't touch 'em. Unless she's super starving.

Camry LOVES any meat & cheese sandwich. Pacen will tolerate them on certain days.

So, I find myself doing what I hate...making two different kinds of sandwiches for lunch. I realize that I'm the mom and that I could just say no, but it's really not that hard to make different kinds of sandwiches, but maybe, I'm creating spoiled little monsters.

This was us on our little picnic in our yard this afternoon. They were getting "funny" eating their lunch. Being 'funny' is one of their favorite things to do lately. Cam asks, "Can I be funny?" And then when I say yes, she and Pacen run around the house screaming and giggling and putting things over their head. Don't ask.

Take......Luck....

We all ventured out to Thanksgiving Point tonight to see this guy.....

Brian Regan! It's Caroline, Brian.
And he was hilarious as always. And it's like he's more funny in person than he is when you watch him on TV...seriously laughing non-stop for over an hour.
And his guy in front of him was pretty funny, too. Some Hawaiian guy that had some good material.
The downside was being 9 months pregnant and sitting on concrete. Luckily, one of our friends had this little chair that I could lean on to make it a little more comfortable. It was worth it though.

And isn't Than just cute.....
Jana and Ben. All of our cheeks hurt by the end of the night. Good times.

Star Wars Obsession

Lately Pacen has been a little obsessed with Star Wars & Light Sabers. Whenever Than comes home Pacen wants to play. He got 2 light sabers for his birthday, but he really wanted a green one so when he got to spend his birthday money from GG, all he wanted was that darn green one. That makes a total of 4 light sabers in our house if you count the Mickey Mouse one we got at Disneyland.

One thing that has always amazed me is how at such a young age, boys came make the most detailed sounds from their mouth. If they need a gun noise, it sounds just like a gun. A car....just like a car. And Than can still do it today. If I try to make sounds I just sound like an idiot. Maybe I'd be better if I had brothers growing up. Who knows.
And as you can see from the top pictures, Camry's obsession is to fill up her princess backpack and dump it out in the living room describing what every little toy is. It's a fun game, really. :)

Crazy Weekend

Despite missing my 10 year high school reunion (that's what happens when you're 37 weeks pregnant :( ), we had a very full weekend. It started out with watching Benji & Packer for Jana while she and Ben were in New York. We only had them from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, but things were a little crazy. Softball game on Friday night where Packer was crawling on the ground and found some raw hamburger meat...sick! Then Than and Pacen both had soccer games on Saturday morning, and I had a baby shower, all running around with a few extra kids. Than was such a big help with the kids--bathed & fed them, played lots of games with them--He pretty much gets super dad award.
Church was an interesting experience--Pacen is 4, Benji is 3, Cam is 2 and Packer is 1, and I'm and big and fat and had all of them crawling all over me for an hour and 15 minutes. We were quite loud during Sacrament Meeting and my friend summed Packer up nicely...He was really loud and laughing & happy....when he wasn't screaming. Yes, we sure did get a lot out of that meeting!
Then on Sunday we had a great treat of having Than's grandparents come and visit us. They could only stay for the night, but the kids had so much fun playing with them. Pacen was very distraught when he didn't get to have breakfast with them in the morning. Carolyn jumped right in and played light sabers with Pacen and Camry kept bringing out toys to show her. Pacen and Cam love their Grandma & Grandpa GG!

Regular Thursday Morning

Today I had to go buy a friend of mine a baby gift, so before we went, I took the kids to the park and then afterwards, I had to kill some time, and let them run around the American Fork Amphitheatre. We got to shop, eat pretzels, go for drinks at Sonic...all around good morning.
The Highlights:
#1: When Pacen said that he had to go to the bathroom (#2) and so I took him, and then he just peed (I know...way too much info) and said he was done, and then we go back to play and seriously not 1 minute later is holding his pants needing to go (#2) again. And did he make it back to the toilet...oh no. Fabulous start to the day.
#2: Pacen grabbed a rock and was going to throw it and I told him not to and he said, "But mom, I have to kill Goliath!" That made me laugh.

Yeah for Turning Babies!

Just as an update, I had my Dr's appointment today and the baby has turned! My midwife was convinced and even confirmed it with an ultrasound. Head down...right where it should be! Now the only downside is that I'll be pregnant for another month, but I can live with that! And I finally finished Breaking Dawn now that our Terrific Tuesday is over with and I can just play with my kids and get ready for this baby to come. Yeah!

BYU Women's Football Clinic 2008!

BYU Football 2008: The Quest for Perfection

So, here I am at the BYU Women's Football Clinic. That would be Max Hall, BYU's starting quarterback, signing my belly. By the end of the night, I had his, Bronco's (head coach), Harvey Unga's (running back), and Brandon Doman's (another coach & former BYU QB) signature right on the baby. You don't know how many people told me that if it's a boy, I have to name it Max.
This Women's clinic is just a night that is held only for women--they feed you, Bronco speaks & answers questions, the players do a Q &A, you get a tour of the stadium --the locker room & press box--then get to do some drills with the coaches & players on the field...that would be the LaVell Edwards Stadium. :) This was our second year going and it's just so much fun. We love BYU football!

Us in the showers in the locker room. Kind of gross, I know.

With Bronco. Yes, I ran all the drills--even banging up against the D-line thingy...that is the technical term. I definitely made a few of the coaches and players a little uncomfortable thinking I was going to go into labor at any moment running the drills. Unfortunately, I did not.

Running out of the tunnel in Slow-Mo. Yeah, we know we are strange, but we had a lot of fun. And how many people get to run out of the tunnel?!?! We're special, darn it! Here's to not being pregnant at next years clinic!
