Thursday!

Seriously, what is cuter than kids in pajamas?!?!? I think Than has been gone almost every night this week so the kids and I have had lots of together time in the evenings. But guess what....Than told me not to cook dinner because we're goin' on a date! On a Thursday even! What a guy.

So, the past couple of days I've been snooping around on all those cute home decorating blogs. Holy crap is all I have to say. People are so stinking creative. Some of it is overwhelming, but some of it makes you want to try new stuff. I saw this cute little thing on some random blog and I thought...I can do that...I'm not just going to look at all this stuff and then not do any of it.
like somehow I'm justified by wasting all my time looking on the computer if something real comes out of it. :)
So, i tried it and it was super cheap (like under three bucks) since I had an extra frame lying around. It's obviously not as cute as the other one, but it's not ugly. I think it'd be cuter with a better matte on the frame, but it's done and it was easy.

So if any of you have any cute little decorating idea blogs out there that you love, let me know. I'm in a decorating blog phase. :)

Sweet Camry

Camry is such a fun girl to have around. The other day I walked in to put Claira down for her nap and this is how Camry was sleeping. She's probably all curled up because she's cold but A--she refused to put anything on besides that dress even though I told her she'd be cold and B--there are three blankets that she tossed off of her. She is just too cute. The other morning she was walking around in her princess shoes with a golf club in one hand, a baseball in the other, a purse on her arm and a tiara on her head. She's just a little bit of everything. I love that she uses words like totally and actually and dude even though it drives me crazy because I know it's my fault. I love that she thinks that she has princess hair and has to comb her hair with a fork like Ariel. I love that Pacen would be lost without her. I just love that she is just her little unique confident self. Life would be boring without her.

Good News and Bad News

I'll start off with the good news. Everyone likes the good news first, right?? The good news is that Claira LOVES her crib and has told me that by sleeping all through the night THREE days in a row. Hooray. Love that girl. She's teased me a few nights here and there, but never three nights in a row. Hopefully this will be the pattern forever!

The bad news is that my mom has to have surgery again. The doctors found two "hot spots" in her throat that are lymph nodes that they are going to remove either Jan. 11th or Jan. 18th. I'm hoping for the 11th because the sooner they are gone the better. It's not terrible news, but kind of a bad blow just because we were hoping with how the radiation kicked my mom's trash, we were expecting it to have kicked the cancer's trash, but apparently, cancer is some pretty nasty stuff. She's with a purely cancer surgeon now and I have full confidence that they'll get in there and get this crap out of her throat and make her well so we can get over this little chapter of our lives. I'm ready for it to be over. So, if you all can, please keep my mom in your prayers that all will go well and she'll be healthy once again. I know that Heavenly Father is real and has a plan for us and answers prayer.
And no post is a post without cute pictures. Here is Claira and Jana's baby, Cali, in their matching shirts. I especially love the one where Cali is about to take a bite out of Claira. It's so fun to have babies so close together. They'll be good buddies someday.

Ch-ch-ch-Changes

Change #1
Now that Claira's head and feet touch the top and bottom of her bassinet, we decided to bite the bullet and finally get Camry a big girl bed. And she loves it! I I love it. It's so cute. I got a sweet deal off of KSL and am currently working on getting the rooms all organized. Camry (almost) always enjoys going to bed, but the past few nights she just runs in screaming, "I'm going to bed now!" It's really cute.

Change #2
And with her in a bed, that means that Claira is in the crib. I've only had her take naps in there, but I think tonight will be the big night. I'm a little nervous having two kids in one room, but we have to do it sometime. I just don't wake up when she cries. Usually Than has to say something to me, but he'll be on Klondike tonight with his scouts, so we'll see. Wish us luck.
Change #3

And Than took it upon himself the other night to give Claira her first food. Mashed potatoes. Nothing like giving a baby milk, butter, salt, pepper and potatoes as her first meal. She's been eyeing and grabbing for our food for a while now, I just hadn't had any energy to bring the high chair up from the garage. The picture makes it seem like she hated it, but I think she liked it. She swallowed everything he gave her.

And these are just some pictures that I took of Claira the other day. This is how I see her all the time. She always has her hands in her mouth or on her feet. She's just beautiful.

Fun with Erin, Marc & Emily

The family is gone now. How sad! We LOVE having visitors. This is the craziness that happens when Erin, Emily, and Marc get around my kids.
We played lots of Wii, Duck Duck Goose, Hide and Seek...I'm pretty sure that they're more tired leaving than they were coming. They are all so great around my kids. I think that what I love most is that they remind me how to just play with my kids and I need that reminder from time to time.
On Sunday we went to Temple Square, and then on Monday, we skied. So FUN! There was only one major fall that I was able to watch from below. :) I found people to watch my kids and we just had a great time. LaNell watched Claira and she was the perfect baby except that she didn't eat ALL DAY LONG! Can you believe that!?!?!?! She was totally happy and content except when Lan tried to give her a bottle. Apparently the girl knows what she wants.
I think that we definitely need to make this a yearly ritual!

Our New BFF

So, today we met her.
Okay, not so much met, but Than got really close (so close that he could touch her and get beat up by the bodyguards) and said, "Hi, Paris," and she said hi back. Okay, she was saying hi to everyone but for some reason, even though it was only Paris Hilton, it was so much fun and fascinating to be standing out in the freezing cold watching for this girl to come out and then seeing her and all of this paparazzi snapping picture after picture of her and seeing all of her big fat bodyguards and seeing this one pap guy seriously fall on his face just trying to get a picture of her. All I could think was, Oh, please spare your fatty camera. And you think....why her? Why are people so obsessed with getting pictures of famous people? And then you think, we wanted to, too?!??!?!What is wrong with us!??!?! It was sure fun.
How would it be to live your life like this????

Erin, Emily & Marc are here and so we drove up to Park City today to get a feel for the Sundance Film Festival. Our one goal was to see one celeberity, and we did it. We're all about goal setting. Despite freezing temperatures and way too many people smoking, it was pretty fun. We scored free chapstick, hot chocolate, and two---yes, I said TWO--spongebob stuffed animals. Definitely worth the trip. We're all about the swag baby.

Four Month Baby!

Claira's four month stats:
Weight: 14 lbs. 2.5 oz.--57%
Height: 26.5 inches-98%
We have some tall genes in the family, but we were more hoping to pass them along to Pacen...we'll see. She's our longest baby yet.
Her new tricks include grabbing her toes---I love it! And also taking a pacifier. She had nothing to do with it until after Christmas break and now she loves to fall asleep to it. (I love it, too!) She's rolled over a couple times and is just perfect. She's learning to be loud, but still not near as loud as Camry was (and that's a good thing! :)) She's still very happy, content, and smiley! She's sleeping well and everyone just loves her.

Six?!?!!?

Seriously....six?!?!? You might be thinking....six what....six extra dollars I found in my pocket....six tubes of chapstick I accidentally left in the wash....no, that would be six cavities that Pacen had in his mouth after his first dentist appointment. You would think that we never brush his teeth. Really, what the heck is the point of brushing if you brush and end up with six cavities anyway. I'd like to thank Than's gene's for this one....I had zero cavities as a kid, and he had like a hundred.
Since there are so many and Pacen was a little apprehensive about the dentist (let me just clarify...no tears, no screaming...just scared and took some coaxing to get him to open his mouth at first...I was actually pretty proud of how he did) they want him to see a Pediatric dentist for it. But of course, I can't just go and have them do the fillings, we have to have a whole other appointment so they can evaluate it and then we have to go back again to have the fillings done. LAME! I should have just gone to the pediatric office in the first place. So, there you have it. My kid has rotten teeth. And I'm pretty sure that the state of your child's teeth has a direct relationship as to how good a parent you are. :)

FHE

I was searching for an FHE to do tonight and I ran accross this and thought I'd share it. It's FHE's for an entire year that cover the weekly theme's in Primary. It's totally free and easy to download. I'd print one for everyone but it's like 124 pages long. Sorry. I'm cheap like that. Anyway--it's off of the chocolate on my cranium blog that has TONS of FHE stuff. So, click here and it'll have a link in that post to get it. I haven't looked at all the FHE's, but I love free stuff and you can make it work for your family.
Here are other FHE sites that I have used before.

Sledding!

Going out to sled in the snow really doesn't take that long....especially when you take 6 kids 4 & under. We just went out with Jana and Ben to our church building...there is an age appropriate hill there....sledded...then went on with our day.

Than with his 'big' jump.

The snow was a little hard.

What always makes me laugh is how similar Packer and Camry are. It must be a 2nd child thing. These kids were begging to sled while Pacen and Benji were crying because they didn't want to go. The 2nd child just has to have more guts, I guess.

And the Brew crew had to get in on the action.

As a side note, I've just watched two movies about dogs (Bolt & Marley & Me--I loved both of them) and I just want to get a dog! I can't wait until Camry's birthday when hopefully the snow will be melted and we can get one.

Today

We played in the snow today. Just Camry and me. We built a snowman. A very tiny snowman, but a snowman nonetheless. I tried to let Claira play with us, but she wasn't too thrilled with it. Who just plops their 4 month old in the snow anyway?!?! What a bad parent. Actually, I was trying to be a good wife by attempting to shovel our snow. Living in the snow is fun for about one day. :)

What really made me laugh was the outfit that Camry begged me to put on after we came in. She pretty much demanded to wear this dress with her pink flip flops. Maybe being a Californian runs in her blood.

And if any of you really know me, you know I'm a modesty nazi. Camry always has a shirt underneath her dresses (I know, I'm a little ridiculous), but today I let it slide. Then when Pacen came home he said, "Camry, why are you naked!?!?"

Seven Years Baby!

On December 29th, Than and I were officially married for seven whole years! Yeah for us. Than surprised me with a little getaway to Nevada City (which is a super cute little town with little shops--loved it) to a nice little bed and breakfast--he's the best planner ever. We had a fabulous dinner and seriously awesome breakfast. I liked it so much I had to ask the lady for the recipe...I should post it...it's that good. I'm super lucky to be married to Than. We always have moments where were like...Isn't it weird that we're married??? Isn't it weird that we have three kids?!?! We are a very blessed little family. Thanks, babe, for a great anniversary!
