W.N.E.
That stands for Worst Night Ever. Not really, but it was pretty bad. It started last night when Camry and Gentry started throwing up. (Luckily, Than and I were celebrating Valentines day at the Grand America and Kathy was babysitting!) So fast forward to this afternoon. We fly home and it's all good, sleepy kids, but no problems flying...oh, besides the airline losing my bag. Yeah, that was lame. So then I'm trying to get ready for Stake Conference...Elder Oaks was coming to just our stake conference...that's a pretty big deal since he is an Apostle. I'm making dinner and Gentry says, "Mom, you need to come look at your carpet." Thats when I see clown makeup dug into our brand new carpet. She found it in my bathroom cabinet that I left open when I was looking for old makeup since I didn't have my bag! ARGH! So, I try to clean it up and it's not working and calling a carpet cleaning but they can't come until Monday. Then Pacen throws up. And then Gentry throws up. So, for sure not going to Stake Conference. Oh, and then Maren made a huge mess of conditioner and butter. She was a hot mess tonight. Pacen ended up throwing up two more times tonight. I just put everyone to bed early and am waiting for Than to get home. I missed Elder Oaks but I get to go to a training tomorrow so it'll be all good. I'm just hoping that this puking doesn't go through everyone in our family. But now I think I just jinxed myself! :)

BYU Junkies
I'm downstairs. I just finished watching Project Runway and I'm reading Unbroken. I don't read a lot but when I do, I really enjoy it. I've also enjoyed listening to Pacen and Than yell at the TV upstairs. They are BYU, through and through and it cracks me up. Tonight, Pacen tried to tell Than that he (Pacen) was a bigger fan than him (than) because Pacen remembered the BYU basketball game tonight. They are ridiculous.
Camry is up there too since it's not fair for Pacen to get to stay up and watch a game and her have to go to bed. I agree. And she said, "Well, now I know how to play basketball so I should get to stay up." Duly noted.
Highlights of the day: Reading in my bed from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. I could get used to that.
*Staying in my pajamas until 2:30pm. Again...I could get used to that.
*Singing Hokey-Pokey with Maren and Gentry--This was actually from last night and it carried onto today. Last night, and tonight too, we didn't have anywhere to go and so I tried to make sure we didn't just watch TV but we did something fun. We ended up singing Hokey-pokey and playing duck duck goose. It was actually so funny and everyone was laughing and having a good time. One of those, hey this family really loves each other moments.
*The kids are in a contest for how many minutes they practice piano and they are killing it! I love that they are practicing more. Shockingly, it really makes a difference!
*Camry chose J.K. Rowling for her Famous Person biography project. She's so pumped about it. All afternoon she was like, Hey mom, did you know this about J.K. Rowling?!?!
*Claira has been not he verge of tears a few times in the past few days. I hope she is just tired and not getting sick or something.
*The first thing Gentry asked for when she woke up was if we could wrap Bea's birthday present. She sticks to something in her mind and doesn't let it go. Why can't she do that with letters and/or numbers?!?! :)

Poor pacen.
So today Pacen had his first experience with bullying. Well, I'm sure that some people have not been nice to Pacen before, but this was kind of a biggie. I picked him up from school and I could tell he was all upset and then finally he burst out what happened. They walk home from school, and there is a porta-potty for any sports that happen after school. This is where the story is sketchy...Pacen opened the door of it and then was in there (probably being a dumb boy) but then his "friends" shut the door on him for 30-45 seconds. This really shook him up. After talking with him over the course of the day, it seems like the most troubling thing about this is that his other friends didn't say anything to stop these kids. He kept saying, "Mom, my friends just kept walking." Oh, break a mother's heart! We spoke to him about making sure that he is never a kid on the other side of this and to remember how it feels to have people be unkind to you. I'm not ready for my kids to be hurt by other people! But I want my kids to be strong and so hopefully, the silver lining could be that Pacen will grow some thick skin because this certainly won't be the last time something like this happens. But what I really want to do is get these kids in trouble! I wanted Pacen to show me who it was so I could yell at them, but he didn't. He knows he needed to give me some time so I didn't be too "mom" on the kid. But I did tell his teachers and they thought it was important enough to pass the info along to the principals so we'll see if we have to talk to the principal about it. Poor buddy. I feel bad that kids are mean. And he's a sensitive soul. But I was thinking how important it is to remember that you are a son of God and have a divine worth so you can have things like this roll off your back and not define what you are and you can still feel good about yourself the next day. I lover you Pacen boy.
