Cruise in Review

We're back. After 6 days of ZERO diapers, and TONS of fun, we are home. We had such a great time just spending time with each other and doing things that we totally wouldn't be able to do with kids. But it's amazing how much you miss them and how much they seem to grow in just a week. This is how we spent our week once I got over the guilt of leaving our kids :)

Monday we couldn't get on the boat until 1:00pm, so we rode on an airboat through the Everglades in search of an aligator---and we saw one! The Everglades are beautiful and unique. Plus there was what they call an "Alligator Show" where this dude with missing teeth & fingers does little tricks with an alligator. Direct Quote: "Now kids, if you finish school, you won't have to do this."

Note the missing fingers.

Tuesday: Boat Day. We spent the day drinking Lava Flows, playing cards, beating Than at Shuffleboard, reading while soaking up the sun, swimming, climbing the rock wall, getting 2nd place in the Ping Pong Tournament, getting dressed up like real adults for dinner--You really can't go wrong with a day like that.

Wednesday: Belize We spent the day "Cave Tubing." We hiked through the rainforest and floated through these huge caves and we even saw a wild Howler Monkey. It was beautiful, but unfortunately, we took all of our pictures on this lame little waterproof camera and so all I have is an after picture right now.

The funniest moment of the day came while another person on our excursion threw his underwater camera at our guide to take a picture. Instead of gently tossing it to the guy, he chucked it overhand and it hit the rocks on the other side and was demolished into many, many little pieces. All you could hear was a little profanity, and his newly married wife screaming, "Those are all of our Honeymoon pictures!" I'm still laughing. First off--who takes ALL of their honeymoon pictures on a piece of junk disposable camera?!?! Anyway--it was hilarious.

Thursday: Cozumel. We're pretty much in love with Cozumel. Our friends, Cache & Carrie, reccomended to rent mo-peds and just cruise around the island finding our own beaches, food, etc. and it was the best advice ever!

Seriously some of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen and no one was there. No rocks or seaweed, just white sand for days and the most perfect temperature of water with a bunch of waves that Than could play in. What's better is eating at these little restaurants along the way.

In Belize I had to hike to the caves in JUST my bathing suit--so, a little out of my comfort zone, but riding a mo-ped was almost worse. I was such a chicken--obviously, I'm always a chicken, but riding on those roads was so scary and intimidating! But, I survived, even though most of the time I kept envisioning myself being smashed to bits by oncoming traffic.

We rode to some Mayan Ruins that weren't the huge ones that you could walk on, but still interesting to see something that was made thousands of years ago.

Friday: Key West

At our last stop we rented bikes and toured the island, ate at Sloppy Joe's which claims to have invented the Sloppy Joe, and also ate our fair share of Key Lime pie (that is Than's favorite. While I was in chips, salsa, & guacamole heaven in Cozumel, he was in heaven eating his pie.) We tried to Jet Ski, but apparently you can't if you're pregnant.

Overall, we just had an amazing trip. It was so fun to not have to worry about cell phones and email and bedtime for a while and just be us. But it was also so fun to come home and have Camry and Pacen run to us in the airport and throw their arms around us so tight.

That you have experienced the beautiful beach of Belize will you also be looking online for a bungalow to buy there?? You and my parents could be neighbors. Ben and I were both excited to see the Today show thing. That must have been fun for Than and his friends to have their company mentioned.

Erica you look "Hot" in your swimsuit. Good choice. I am so jealous. It looks like you had a ton of fun. I say we go to Cancun and boat over to Cozumel, maybe after you have your baby and Zinch is actually making money.

I'm glad you had so much fun. You Go Girl for doing all that cool stuff being pregnant. YOu look good too! Cozumel is so dang pretty, I am dying to take Parley there...if you have any more pictures please post! PS, I have been pondering the whole swimsuit issue since I saw yours, and I still can't decide on a good one! Yours is so cute. I looked at all the "modest Mormon" sites and only found one I liked though. (Modbe-it has a ruffle on the neck) Help!

Welcome back! I'm glad you guys had such a great time. And I agree that your swimsuit looks fabulous. As for posting pregnancy pics on my site, I'm going to have to take some first! I've been careful to avoid the camera at all costs lately. I'll consider your request. ;)
