Than is the Best Dad EVER!

Father's Day happened in a big way at our house.  Than deserves a lot of love from us with all the work he puts in for us.  Switching jobs this year and has been a tough transition and there are still many ups and many downs and we want to make sure that we support him and make him feel awesome, if at least he only feels awesome at home! :)

Thursday we headed out for foot massages and wound up watching Jurassic World instead.  We love going to the movies and hopefully with Pacen getting older, he'll be able to babysit more so we can go more! Jurassic World was super entertaining, but I just didn't like the main girl very much.  I liked her, but I didn't love that they showed her with her hair ridiculously perfect and in a whiter than white outfit because automatically you're thinking (in a really slow voice) Gee...I wonder what will happen to her??!?  Other than that and some predictable things, good movie.  Chris Pratt and Jimmy Fallon can basically rule the world.

Friday:  A's Game!
First baseball game of the year plus fireworks equals a super fun night!

I kind of like taking random pictures of my kids just doing whatever they are doing.
Family Selfie!  The lame part is that Costco used to sell tickets really close to the field and give  you 10$ of food money on the ticket.  This year...no food money and tickets are way out in right field.  They must have been losing money on that deal!  So we had seats way out there but all in all, still fun.

My kids think it's hilarious to be hilarious in pictures these days.  But not Gentry Pie...she still looks super cute. :)

BIG DAY FOR CLAIRA!  She said, "This is the first time I'm actually interested in what's going on in the game because I know the rules!"  That's a bid deal! :)

Because when you are bored, you take pictures.
 And more pictures....
And more. Camry's was an attempt to not have her eyes get squinty when she smiles.  It's in your genes, babe.  You're going to squint. :)
And you Instagram about it. #obviously
 Than's hairy legs at work.
 F-A-M-I-L-Y!
Gentry was channeling her inner Linda at the game.
Misshapen ball cap.  Check.
Scraggly thin hair popping out.  Check.
Beautiful Brown eyes.  Check.
Love of Baseball.  Check.
And this is the face you make when you try to take a selfie with Rollie Fingers and Dennis Eckersly. Kind of hilarious that we are making the exact same face!
 Wait....Let's try again!
To heck with it!  Those guys are too big.  Here is a better angle. :)

We were lucky that those guys game close to our section but they were BAD LUCK because the A's gave up like 8 runs that inning to lose the game.  It was some terrible baseball played.  But Maren was OBSESSED with Stomper.  Like obsessed.  She kept going down to him and touching him and making him give her high fives.  She was basically a stinker the whole time. :)  But watching her dance is hilarious and totally entertaining. And Gentry did get Stomper's autograph on her hat!  Score!
And if you look real close and have super human strength eyes, you can see Than on the big screen!   Yes, of course he got on the big screen.

Finally, the game was over and we got to wait and wait for the fire works.  It's a good thing they were awesome!
Maren kept saying, "Whoa!  Whoa!"  It was so cute.
One of these days I'll just enjoy the moment....Nah!  I'll always take pictures. :)
 Fun....and a little terrifying.
The fireworks were really awesome.  I was glad because we were tired and the kids had a swim meet in the morning so we were going to feel worse if they had been lame.

The next morning...bright and early was our swim meet!
This day ended up being CA-raY-ZY.  First, the swim meet.
In between events, Than mowed the lawn and we cleaned the house.

Then, we drove to San Jose for a pro swim meet and also met up with his friend, Marie, from work who is also leaving Chegg.  It was stinking hot so we stopped at Jamba Juice.  Just look at Maren's feet.  And this was just moments after she stopped licking the glass.  And moments after she tried to pull a smoothie out of the garbage and finish it.  She's so sick and wrong right now.
 International Swim Meet.
Yes, we paid $90.00 for the chance to see Michael Phelps swim and I'll admit even thought Maren and Gentry were the WORST, it was still worth it.
Maren was just tired and didn't want to sit and threw her granola bar and hit someone and was being so loud and screaming that I had multiple people staring at me.
Then Gentry's flip flop slid through the cracks of the stadium seats into the pit of no return and she FREAKED out.  Like super freaked out and Than and I were both about to pull the plug on everything and go home....but we didn't.  Because we just don't ever do that.
And because we got to see Missy Franklin swim too.
Oh, and get Michael Phelps' autograph!  Yes!  Mission accomplished!

And take the worst selfie known to man.  Like the most blurry out of focus selfie ever.  :)
But that's alright...We got the autograph!  Yes!
Precious cargo on my lap for the ride home.
You might think we would go home and be done for the day, but no....we stopped by Big 5 to grab some propane for Kristin, stopped by Chick-Fil-A for dinner and then headed out to the Drive-in to meet the Jackson's for Inside Out!  It was so crowed since it was the opening weekend and the weather was perfect.
But, of course, totally worth it and everyone had a great time!
But yes, we were seriously exhausted by the time real Father's Day came.
It was the usual.
Presents.
Eggs Bennedict.
Lots of love.

Church.  He still had to teach his lesson too!  Poor guy!
And then some Greek Tacos for dinner.

Pretty much the best weekend ever.
But it didn't even stop there because Dave and Lenore came to borrow the motorhome for a little road trip so Than had to get that ready. But that was fun too getting to see them.  Basically it's our normal life of craziness.
But in all seriousness, Than is awesome.  Who else would even want to fit all of this in in a day?  I was joking with a friend that he wouldn't even want to be out golfing, that he would rather be spending his time doing exactly what he did....and it pretty much is true.  This job change has been awesome for the lone fact that Than is around more.  And it matters.  These kids are only going to be kids once and it's better when he's around to be a part of it. We are so blessed to be in our situation.  We love each other.  We have five great, healthy kids.  Than has a good job.  We have a great house to raise all those kids in.  And none of it would be possible if than didn't go to work everyday and work as hard as he does.  Love you babe.
